Trauma Therapy

Support for individuals in Vancouver, Clark County, and WA state

Do you feel haunted by something in your past that continues to negatively affect you today?

Maybe the effects of past trauma are greatly interfering with your relationships, or perhaps you find yourself in your head, shutting down, or on an emotional rollercoaster, and you can’t stay in the present moment.

You may be wondering if you will ever feel normal like other people, or simply have days when your insides are screaming out in pain, whether emotional or perhaps through unexplained physical ailments.

Perhaps you’ve been driven to self-destructive behaviors or even felt suicidal.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life:

●     You wonder if the distracting, intrusive memories will ever go away.

●     You carry so much guilt and shame that it is hard to enjoy your life.

●     You struggle to show up as your best self and feel like you screw everything up.

Trauma Therapy can help.

It may feel impossible now, but you can find freedom from your past. You can experience healing from overwhelming, intolerable events that happened to you. You can finally show up as your authentic, grounded self again. And I can help get you there.

Trauma Therapy helps you do 3 things:

●     Reprocess your troubling memories.

●     Break free from the plaguing distress they bring.

●     Walk away healed, with new perspectives, so you can enter the world ready to cultivate new, positive experiences.

What our work will look like:

I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to Trauma Therapy comes from a place of hope. I offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is similar to Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), a cutting-edge, evidence-based modality that uses a combination of eye movements and rescripting troubling memories to heal the effects of trauma on the body and brain in as little as 1-3 sessions (more for multiple traumas).

It’s time to come alive and thrive.

I can help you get there.

Common questions about Trauma Therapy:

  • Trauma can manifest in many different ways. If you find your past getting in the way of your present too much, affecting your everyday life, you may want to come in for an assessment. I use a vetted assessment tool to determine symptoms paired with a face-to-face interview to better understand to what extent possible trauma is plaguing you.

  • An ART session can last between 60-90 minutes, in which I facilitate sets of eye movements to neutralize distress around the traumatic memories, paired with techniques to help you reprocess it so it no longer feels current, but put in the past where it belongs. The best thing besides rapid healing is that you don’t have to share uncomfortable details of what happened!

  • As a trauma survivor myself, I know what it is like to have your whole life flipped upside down by traumatic events that should have never happened to you. By engaging in trauma treatments myself with successful outcomes, reading what the literature says about the most proven trauma treatments available, and getting good training, I am eager to pass on the same healing to you. I believe you will find me relatable and personable.

  • You can always schedule a free consultation to see if we would be a good fit. Many of my clients have noticed a big difference between talking with informal supports (e.g., friends, family, ministers) and a trained professional like me when it comes to something so heavy such as trauma. I am highly trained in the area of trauma therapy and bring a wealth of personal and professional experience.
